I did my first sheetmetal square to round.. the base is 4" x 18" to a 6" round.  I found a calculator online that helped me with the math, then I drew it up on cad and plasma cut the two ends out.  After the break press and a bunch of hammering, it came out pretty nice.  All we had in the shop was 18ga plate which made it a little tougher to hammer out. Reply:Kick *** man......My buddy's a Tin Basher and I can't for the life of me, figure out how he does that math on all those weird HVAC constructs !Good job, looks Great./Jman..EDIT:BTW, what did you use to weld the square and seams together ?  What settings ? Rod type ?Cheers,/J...
Reply:Nice job, Now you are a tin bender...Back in the day, it seems like a hundered years ago when I finished my apprentice training in sheetmetal that what they would call you.
Reply:This is what worked for me, all vertical down:One question I have is what is normally charged for something like this.  Since this was my frist time, I had over 1.5 hours into the job total with drawing and researching... I cant see charging the customer that amount. Attached ImagesCommon sense in an uncommon degree is what the world calls wisdom.
