Hi guys, it's me again!  I finally got the pedal today.  I had to work but jumped in my setup to do a few beads.  Pardon the metal not being clean as I had to just do a test run...  I was actually a little late for work but it's so worth it .  As some of u guys already know, my setup includes Miller Maxstar STL 120V Tig/STick.  The pedal made all the difference.  I'm now getting the hang of controlling the puddle.  I don't have to speedup if it's getting too hot... or stop and adjust temp if it's too cold.  I noticed as I weld on the same steel and brings temp up,  I had to use less and less amperage. Here's the first two beads.  I was still cold on my first one ...trying to adjust and reflect on what the ideal bead image is,  I try to work on amperage.  I started at 75 amps 1/16" tungsten, 1/16" rod on 1/8" angle bar.  Here u goNext few beads was bumped up to 105 amps having to play with the pedal decreasing as metal gets hot... Again, pardon my dirty metal.  I was rushing to do some welds before I go to work.   The pedal was awesome!!  Thanks for the advice.  Feedbacks still appreciated.  I think I'm ready to do joint practices.....  I'll keep you posted on Day4 Tig Thanks,Jo_______Miller Maxstar 150 STLLincoln ProMig 140Hobart Handler 210
Reply:Looking on the pictures,  I'm now starting to think  my beads are too hot than ideal.  Can you guys pitch in....  I was aiming for a flatter bead this time.  My first few beads on Day1 and 2 are too cold as you guys said...  Let me know what you think.  Thanks//Jo_______Miller Maxstar 150 STLLincoln ProMig 140Hobart Handler 210
Reply:I think you should clean the metal first.  It will be your biggest improvement.  Look at the top plate that was ground and look at the edges of your beads on the second one.DavidReal world weldin.  When I grow up I want to be a tig weldor.
Reply:You should know better than that..Posting dirty metal welds..Clean is everything TIG wise..Clean it good and then post again..You as well as us will see a big diffrence..Leave the dirty stuff to 7018 or something......zap!I am not completely insane..Some parts are missing Professional Driver on a closed course....Do not attempt.Just because I'm a  dumbass don't mean that you can be too.So DON'T try any of this **** l do at home.
Reply:i knew it .   I'll be back.... with cleaner metal.. hehe_______Miller Maxstar 150 STLLincoln ProMig 140Hobart Handler 210
Reply:Storm, 3rd pic down, with the dime-3rd weld down; that one looks pretty good, other than the tie off at the end. But that has a lot to do with dirty material. Good feed rate, and good puddle overlap on the dips. Find some scrapSS to play with- my Maxstar loved the stuff. And then, after so much work...... you have it in your hand, and you look over to your side...... and the runner has run off. Leaving you holding the prize, wondering when the runner will return.
Reply:Thanks for pitching in Rojodiablo!  I'll aim for that bead consitency!  Overall, I'm pretty happy with my Maxstar performance.  I think the machine makes the learning curve less steeper for a newbie like me(less controls to mess with but with lots of power to do the job)  It's nice to hear from a fellow Maxstar user....  SS scrap on the way as soon as I finish making joints with the remaining mild steel that I have._______Miller Maxstar 150 STLLincoln ProMig 140Hobart Handler 210
