I was thinking of making my own wall mount for the LCD since the prices are high,  Anyone done this before?  I notice my bolt pattern on the back seems to be 200 mm square rather than 8 inches.  Is that common?
Reply:i was thinking of making one too there about $80.00 maybe buy one at wall marttake the measurements and return it

Reply:Match your bolt pattern on the TV, and match the stud spacing in the walls to make sure that the lag bolts go into solid wood instead of drywall.I think you'll wind up with something much more functional than what you could buy."Any day above ground is a good day"http://www.farmersamm.com/
Reply:Yep, I've done it for a 47" that goes in a corner, try finding something like that for a TV that size! I made a mount that goes in the corner of the room and swivels a few degrees depending on where you're sitting in the room although it's really not necessary. It's mostly just angle and a few pieces of flat. The swivel is a large bolt that acts as a hinge pin through some 3/4" pipe.... also makes it easy put the TV up or take it down by pulling the bolt out. The hinge also sticks out from the main part that goes on the wall about 3" to allow the TV to swivel. And as always, it's about 10X stronger than it has to be. I'm sure I could stand on the mount, the lag bolts or the studs would be the first things to go. I could probably take some pics if you want. Future plans include putting the Blue-Ray/Surround system on a shelf over the TV using the stationary part of the mount as the base...... baby-proofing project.HH 187Miller Bluestar1EAHP AlphaTig 200X
Reply:here I was thinking some 6000 series ball bearings in small lengths of tubes for hinges ... a pin in 3/4 pipe is really all it needs .. thanks.
