Ive looked online for this info to no avail. I have a WH36FC Victor torch thats had a CA36 cutter on it for eons. What I need to know is, what series of welding tips and rosebud will fit this torch? Thanks in advance."I need this parade like I need a hole in the head"~John F.Kennedy

Reply:Thanks for the replies, Rich and Joe. I appreciate it.Ive found out the "W" series tips are what I need. Now, what I need to know is: what size tip would best be suited to exhaust pipe welding? For the past couple of years, Ive had more and more people asking me if I can do exhaust work. Ive done a couple of jobs and they turned out pretty well using my MM210. Im just wanting to learn more. I'd love to be able to fire up the torch and do it "old school"."I need this parade like I need a hole in the head"~John F.Kennedy
Reply:I think an " O " ought to be about right . I was taught the best way to set torch  FOR WELDING  is to open the valves ON TORCH wide open , before opening and adjusting the regulators , then light the torch and adjust flame with the regulators . You'll be surprised how good  you can adjust the welding flame, and how little pressure you need to weld exhaust pipes. AND  ..YES, I AM talking about oxy-acetylene .[SIZE="5"Yardbird"
Reply:Boy does exaust bring back memories. The guy I worked for when I was a teen always had me welding exaust with oxy/ace and coat hangers. The coat hangers  we always saved the coat hangers from the uniforms lol. That was "old school"Joewww.CummingsHauling.com
Reply:Roy, that way works great, especially with 2 stage regulators. I always found it to be quicker and more convenient to set my regulators at a little more pressure than needed at the tip and use the torch valves to regulate the flame. This just goes to show the newer hands that there is more than one way to skin a cat. When you are learning to weld ,with any process, don't be afraid to experiment as you weld.
Reply:You can learn a lot through experimentation. The difference between art and craft is the quality of the workmanship. I am an artist.
Reply:Thanks for the replies, guys. Im all about experimenting.  It may be a while but, I'll report back with some pics."I need this parade like I need a hole in the head"~John F.Kennedy
