Great intake manifolds

I hate to say that I did not do these, wish I could come close.  But found it necessary to post up the link (hope the mods dont mind. Reply:not alot of guys building these manifolds out there who would take the time to weld and blend the inside of the runners....and it doesnt look blended at all!!! simply amazing....i mean there are people who can tig and im one of them but this guy can TIG!!!! i was proud of the manifold i built for my stang but it doesnt compare....thanks for that postAWS CWI/CWEASNT NDT Level 2 PT/MTAWS Certified Welder(aerospace)
Reply:So now the real question. Since beauty is in the function, how well do they perform? My guess would be, nothing special. In fact some of the transitions from plenum to runner are kind of crude and unbalanced. I give it a 10 for looks, and a 5 for functionality.-Aaron
Reply:i would say for their intended application they probably run good.    In a drag car who cares how it idles as long is makes insane power.Vantage 500's LN-25's, VI-400's, cobramatics, Miller migs, synch 350 LX, Powcon inverters, XMT's, 250 Ton Acurrpress 12' brake, 1/4" 10' Atlantic shear,Koikie plasma table W/ esab plasmas. marvel & hyd-mech saws, pirrana & metal muncher punches.

Reply:I would have to say marcels manifolds run as well as they look !!!  The people that buy them would be bustin his balls if they didn't.     Simply amazing work.  Jake
Reply:Yeah I suppose for just a drag application its fine. Peak power is easy, getting running stability, emissions, fuel economy, decent torque curve etc is the hard part. At least from a design standpoint.

Reply:Awesome work. Marcels manifolds perform. Some of the worlds fastest street cars run them. There is a Trailblazer SS that is in the high 8s in the quarter that is running one. This is a 4800lb SUV running 8s so you do the math on what kind of HP the intake is supporting.
Reply:Thanks for posting that. The guy said on the other board that he used a dynasty. I have not used a dynasty much but that is great work for an inverter. I own a thermal arc 185 tsw and while I love my inverter,   on aluminum I find that it really feels a lot different that the syncrowaves do and can be difficult to lay as nice of beads as I feel I can with a rectifier. Either way that is some awesome work. That guy really has the process down.
