I wanted to share a picture of a Christmas tree stand I built. I had a propane tank that I had cut into a tall bucket some years ago. Yes, I did purge the tank very well before cutting it. I shortened it to the central seam and welded it to a piece of 3/8 plate for stability. I used threaded rod and tapped pieces of rectangular stock welded inside under the lip formed by the seam. I tacked nuts onto the ends of the threaded rod and gave it a coat of some very shiny black paint. I also welded two points in the center bottom to hold the tree trunk. This welding project was my reward for finishing a 30 week course in computer networking. The blue collar side of my life had been neglected lately. Have a great new years everyone.
