How expensive can this get? I am looking at a Miller Syncrowave 250 right now for around $400 locally. The guy says it was wired wrong at a job and it went "poof" and that it has physically damaged wires. Is it a gone'r or does this sound like an ok deal?
Reply:It could be anything from a $20 capacitor to a $1,000 motherboard. Why not arrange to borrow it and take it to a shop that does Miller repairs for a checkout and an appraisal of the repair cost?If it's one of the boards, you could be buying big trouble and large expense. If you can't get some visibility regarding the repair cost, I'd pass on it.
Reply:He said it needs a "board" and that it was looked at by an "electrician" prior to him shelving it for 2 years.I dont know, i gotta make up my mind quick though...only 40 minutes left. |
