A friend wants me to modify a fuel transfer tank that goes in a pickup truck. Im wondering how to get it clean enough to weld, there hasnt been oil in it in a long time but i want to know how to get the residual out so it doesnt cause trouble welding. Its aluminum. Acetone once he cuts it open and shortens it? Thanks
Reply:Take it to a radiator shop and they can give it a good cleaning.
Reply:Thanks, didnt think of that. Im off the hook, he is going to try it himself, after looking at it, its not something I want to get involved in if I dont have to. Looks very corroded......
