I ordered up a Thermal Arc 185 fro Indiana Gas on Saturday... it shipped today... UPS indicates it should arrive Wednesday. I went and got an argon cylinder and filler rods this afternoon...I feel like a little kid on December 23... waiting to open that BIG present! An odd fellow, but nice enough. I build "interesting" things.
Reply:Thats a sweet machine. I was amazed how quite it runs after trying it out this weekend.
Reply:we expect photos, impressions...
Reply:I have one and absolutly love it. I have used it all day and never had the over temp come on. It welds aluminum great and DC tig is also great. Stick welding its better with 6013 than 7018. I have other machines for stick. Have a Blast and show us some pics.DavidReal world weldin. When I grow up I want to be a tig weldor.

Reply:It's Wednesday!!!!!I assume you have it up and making sparks already....I r 2 a perfessional
Reply:It came! I am working it... setting it up.The manual recommends 7-10 liters/minute of argon for the test weld I want to do. My regulator is calibrated in cubic feet per hour. What should I set it at?An odd fellow, but nice enough. I build "interesting" things.
Reply:14-21 cfh.035 cuft / liter * 60 min / hr 7*.035*60 = 1410 * .035*60 = 21or, and this is handy, you pretty much just double the number! no calculations necessary 7=14 10=20. |
