heres a couple of pics of welds using a hh187. comments or criticism are welcome Attached Images
Reply:they look ok. the second small weld you didnt fill in the crater at the end of the weld, could cause a stress crack. try working on your positioning it looks like you are turning the gun instead of moving the whole thing
Reply:They certainly look fine to me. Looks like you have a good touch with a good machine there. (It's sure tough to use this website anymore. It has slowed down terribly, but I digress.........)
Reply:sorry dreamcatcher i will try to do better next time. i was really just playing around not trying to make it perfect.
Reply:You obviously have good penetration. They're very consistent and and shiny clean. Nice job!Old horsebarn for a shopBig scrap pile out backMiller Syncro200Lifelong collection of toolsBunch of other crapUnderstanding wifeUnderstanding neighbors
Reply:Looked great to me also. The HH 187 is a very nice welder. I really like mine. I welded some with one of the predacessors a few days ago the HH 175 and it was easy to tell from the start that the HH 187 was much nicer to weld with.
Reply:that is the first time i have welded since late january when i started a new job doing machining at my work. i have done better.
Reply:Welds look good and consistant. In the second pic top weld showing the back of a groove weld. Gap the weld a little more and it will penetrate completely through the back side of the base metal. What thickness of material, gas, direction of travel? On the T joint try a cursive O or L gun manipulation pausing a little more at the lower edage of the weld. My .02 worth
Reply:Good looking welds, the weld metal should flow through the gap in the back, keep your contact tip as close to the weld as possible to acheive this effect.
Reply:Those welds look great to me.
