Victor Torch Need Welding Attachments?

This year I picked up a victor torch, 25ft of hose, regulators and two full size tanks and cart from a friend for a steal of a deal.  Tanks were empty so when I went down to the welding gas store to fill them I asked about getting the welding attachments for the torch.  He said they were so old I should get a new setup and he had some Taiwanese made victor knock off's.  It only included the torch setup and not the welding tips or combiner(?)  I'm more partial to Taiwanese than China since I lived there for some time and feel they do quality work on most things but I can't find just welding parts that I need.  Also how do you know if it's really a victor compatible?  I took apart my old one which was probably 20 or 30 years old.  Worked fine.  The hose is starting to crack so I'm going to get a new hose but I figure the regulators and the torch setup are still good.  I cut through a 1/2" steel plate I picked up at the junkyard to just try it out.  I use it mostly for cutting but I've got some barrels to turn into smokers and I'd like to use a welding tip on the thinner metal since my cheap mig just makes it look like crap.  Guess I'm just looking for advice on getting some parts.  I got a great deal on the original setup - 75.00 for the whole thing and then spent 150.00 on the new torch. I'll probably eventually add a portal unit by pieces so I'm not that concerned about having two of them, but it would be nice to have the welding attachments.
Reply:If it's Victor, it will either be a Type `1,3 or 5 Tip.  If you know what type cutting tip you have, that will tell what welding tip you need.   JohnSMAW,GMAW,FCAW,GTAW,SAW,PAC/PAW/OFCand Shielding Gases.  There all here. :
Reply:I use a set of Victor regulators that have been in continuous professional service since 1968. Gentech is a Chinese made Victor. My partner has one. It looks, handles and cuts just like my old American Victor, also had a tag in the case that said "A Product of Victor Equipment Company", and uses the same tips. I also have a Uniweld torch that is compatible with my Victor, but at a lower cost. The cutting tips are cheaper too, but definitely not as good as Victors. John is correct. If you know the cutting tip style it takes then you know the welding tips it needs.The difference between art and craft is the quality of the workmanship. I am an artist.
