Light duty shop. Only light welding and cutting. Are the regulator guards needed? Am I wasteing money on them?
Reply:Unless youre going to be traveling with them on the back of your truck still hooked up you shouldnt really need them. Do you have them chained securely in one place or do you move them around a lot?My vintage equipment 1957 Lincoln sa 2001980's Lincoln 225 AC1952 F-2 ford truck1957 F-250 ford truck
Reply:i bought a set for my buddy - and he absolutly hates them. the ones we got block the valve from putting the regulator in. unless your driving around 24/7 with tanks on your truck - you dont need them.IMHO - ill take the extra 5 minutes to take off the regulator and put on the tank cap. its 10 times safer than any guard.I break things for a living...
Reply:If they move its only in my 2 car garage. Maybe 12 feet at the most. They are chained in a kart. The guards cost about $15 each. Guess I can spend $30 on something else. Thanks
Reply:15 dollars for reg guards??????? What planet you living on????? Stupid things cost around 80 bucks a pop at my LWS. Are they DOT approved?"Any day above ground is a good day"http://www.farmersamm.com/
Reply:the acetylene cap for my buddy's tanks was around $50 - got them from etox.jdod - where are you getting your supplies?? the one rule i have found in welding is that its not cool to buy cheap stuff. alot of times your life could be on the line and better to spend some money and get good quality products - instead of trying to go the cheap route.I break things for a living...
