]Usually I weld stuff 3/16 or thicker but I was too cheap to spend $30 and wait a week for a throttle lever on my backhoe. Not that it was going anywhere without it...stuck in mud...idle wasn't going to get me out. 2nd time to get stuck first was down to the frame with a round bale on the front (buried a few 4x4 in the muck) The lever was noticed to be wallowed out when the plastic connector broke at the other end. The connector was cheap...I figured I could JB Weld another small piece of metal to the bottom/top and then drill a hole...that didn't go so well. Broke out the welder and grinder when the rain finally stopped. The lever is about 1/8 thick. I impressed myself by not having to cut/drill the hole for the rod to fit perfectly.Ward's PowerKraft 295amp welder1/8 601140ampIt should never break again being this was probably the original from '74Last edited by drewjunr; 02-22-2010 at 11:31 AM.Reason: pic wasn't showing
