dom tubing line on inside?

Im attempting to make a rod/tubing hinge. I tried with a 3/4 rod and a sch40 pipe with an ID of .824. It didnt work well because there was so much wiggle room. There was also a line down the inside (from it being hot rolled??) which would mess me up if I tried to get a piece that fit better. I was thinking of going with DOM tubing .750 in ID and a threaded rod 3/4 (which measured out to be about .743 OD. So my question is .. is there going to be a line down the middle which will mess me up by filling up that 7 or so thousands on the DOM tubing?thanks
Reply:The short answer is no, not on DOM tubing.
Reply:DOM is a slang way of saying extruded tubing. The bead down the middle is the weld (hi frequency weld if I remember right)So no Dom tubing has no seams

Reply:No seam on DOM (at least not a visable one) most of it starts out as ERW tubing and is drawn over a mandrel (thats where  DOM comes from) which stretches the tube to final dimensions and makes the seam nearly invisible and also makes the tube stronger.Seamless is similar but starts with a piece of bar stock that is bored then stretched over a mandrel to lengthen and widen it to final size. (a whole lot more expensive)
Reply:Ok thank you sounds like A513 - TYPE 5 STEEL TUBE DOM with an ID of .750 will be able to fit a .743 rod then
