Reply:I scratch my arse with mine.
Reply:I think some people new to TIG don't realize the importance of holding a tight arc length. For good puddle control the distance between the end of the tungsten and the weld joint surface should only be around 1/16", just a big enough gap so you're not dipping into the puddle all the time or hitting the tungsten with the wire. A slight 10 to 20 degree tilt on the torch to push the puddle a bit ahead of the tungsten helps give access to add wire to the puddle. Melt the filler by dipping into the puddle, not melting the filler with the arc. There's a couple things to think about. |
