6x10 daul axle trailer

I need help on the placement of axle on a 6x10 daul axle trailer, not sure where to put axle.   help
Reply:It really depends on the intended use.  If it's just general purpose then you could use the 60/40 rule.  Measure 6ft back from the front of the bed and that should be the center of your axles.  If using leaf springs then mount the pivot of the balance bar there and the springs will locate the axles.   If using torsion axles then you have to do a little bit of math to figure out the mount points relation to the center of the stub axle, but it isn't too bad.My name's not Jim....
Reply:Like Jim said, it depends on the axles & suspension you choose. If leaf springs are in the plans, then it is best to get dimensions from the suspension supplier. The measurements between center equalizer and outer spring hangers are specific for each size of spring sets. But the 60/40 rule still applies and will likely be centered on the equalizer mounts. Reply:i was always taugh on anything less than 16ft. to find the center of the frame, and then measure back one inch per foot of trailer frame.AG MECH DUDE

I just bought 6X12 tandem axle to replace my 5X8 single axle thats to small. I was looking for a 6X10 but couldn't find one. Heres a picture of mine,(5X8) and when you get yours set up post a pic, it might give me an idea on something I could do differently.Thanks Attached Images
