another plasma cutting question

if cutting outside, can a moderate breeze affect the cutting ability of the plazma gun, I think that is what was happening the other day but not sure.  the cuts started to degrade using a drag tip, but the tip looked o.k. from 1st observation.thanksRon
Reply:If it is an air plasma I don't think a breeze can affect it. Buy you might want to check and see if your air supply pressure is constant. Reply:I had done that and the air was good but the cut had become degraded when the wind picked up.  I have not had a chance to recheck since the last cut and thought I would get more response,and also thought I might hear from the plasam guru here.
Reply:The wind around here blows hard enough to make you shake,even hard to stick weld weld when it gets going.
Reply:That must have been a cold hard wind. The air coming out the end of the tip at 70/75 PSI input is about 20,000 FPS and at about 30,000 degreese. Reply:I don't believe you will ever find a wind strong enough to affect a plasma cutting arc. As Mechanic stated...the power and velocity of the arc will overcome any wind or temperature issue.Jim Colt   Hypertherm
Reply:Thanks Jim and others for the response , it might actually be the tip I didnt have time the other day to do a thorough checking of the tip, however they were cutting a very old piece of metal that had been been painted so right now i think a consumable was wasted.ThanksRon
