New welder, I may have overbought

Well I plan on welding various things, and its my first welder so I bought a HOBART IRONMAN 210 I got a great price basically $1050..So is this a good machine for the hobbiest who may get into serious welding?

Reply:It's a good choice and will handle full blown production on the lighter materials. Heck even that 1000 amp monster would turn down low enough to do 20ga.
