16g square tube question

i tried the search and came up with alot of posts for 16g tube , but i didnt find what i was looking for. im planning to try my hand at tigging some. ive got a weekend full of nothing to do at all and i thought this would make a good time to practice. my main question is, what size tungsten should i use? should i be using 040 or 1/16?  pretty much all of my practice has been on 1/8'' steel until now. ive had very good results on the 1/8'' and i figure why not try on the 16g. im planning to make a new cart for my 110v squirtgun because the cart that came with it really truly isnt big enough to hold as big of a tank as i have on it.thanks in advancealso, whats a good output to start at?Millermatic 211weldpack 3200 squirtgunsquare wave 200victory journeyman kitHypertherm 30xptoo much other crap to listtinkerer extraordinaire

Reply:Originally Posted by lewrayYou might try 3/32 tungten for 1/8 and 1/6 will work too actually better for smaller than 1/8.  Just me but I always start at 90 amps and crank up.  Id say 100- 120     It all depends on what size steel.
