Sometimes at work the nozzel on my mig gun gets red hot - running ER70S-6 solid .045 wire - benard gun - doesn't happen all time - nozzel used but clean - good tip - never been able to figure out why - Running 4" Fillet welds - anybody got any ideas? Thanks
Reply:It could be your gun is not rated heavy enough for the amps you are running or your contact tip is too loose to the wire or loose in the end of the gun.Dan
Reply:Thanks DanD78 Checked tip this am - was tight - it's a 300 amp gun - thanks again for trying -
Reply:What are the amps/volts and gas that you are using ?The duty cycle changes depending on the gas used.I suppose in a corner fillet,a lot of heat may be reflected back to the nozzle.
Reply:150 AMP's - 25Volts - 92%Argon8%C02
Reply:Are you sure about those parameters? At 150A with 92/8 you should be at around 19-20V. What is your wire speed?JohnA few weldersA lot of hammersA whole lot of C-clamps
