Hey guys im new here and trying to start to learn to weld with tig.. a guy at my job has what he calls a solar tig 1600 ive looked all over the internet for even some info on it and i cant find a thing about it im looking to buy it considering its alot cheaper then some of the new units if anybody knows anything i would greatly appreciate it TIA
Reply:getcrunk,Don't know a thing about that particular machine.I do have an older Solar 2115 Mig. Not a bad little mig, but not on a par with current machines.Solar is no longer in the welding business. Rumored that they were bought out by Century and then ceased to exist.I would be very leary of a Solar tig.
