I just picked up a short back cap for my WeldTec WP20 torch and I can't get it to hold my tungsten in. I tried adjusting the length but it won't hold onto it like the mid-length cap the torch came with. Only thing I changed was the cap. Do I need to change the collet or collet body as well?
Reply:Collet and body aren't changed. They only thing I can think of; just before tightening, the tungsten should still be able to push-in 'a little' more (as in 'not too long').If you have the right short cap, they should look the same. Reply:That's exactly like the one I've got Craig. I'll have to try pushing it in a little more. I did notice there isn't a whole lot of room to grind the tungsten down once it's cut to length for the short cap! |
