Reply:I am sorry, DUH... Yea I guess that would have been wise huh? I need it to be steel. To start out with I'll need about 4 feet to build a couple prototypes. Thanks in advance.Ken-----------------------------------------------------ThanksKenVan Ness BuildersboocrewproductionMidnight Haunters SocietyBeyond Midnight
Reply:Have you tried your local steel supplier?Have we all gone mad?
Reply:Try EMJ (Earle M Jorgensen)http://www.emjmetals.com/Default.aspxIf it's not available and you'll only need 4' sections then you might consider having the pieces rolled for you but I don't know if that will work for your application.http://all-a-cart.comWelding Cart Kits and accessories

I don't know what Ken is working on but I just got done making some prototypes for the wind power industry and I needed some 7" x .250" 6061-T6 tubing and wasn't able to deviate from that based on the requirements of the design.Only two sources (EMJ and Tube Service) had it on the West Coast....at a cool $110/ft.
Reply:Just had a look in my little black book.Closest is 6" 1/8 wall pipe, which has an O.D. of 6.625"Nothing else even close in standard size. You are going to have to get some sheet steel rolled up on slip rollers and welded, not that difficult.Cheers, Tony._________________________________Transmig 310 + Argoshield LightOxy acetyleneOxy propanePrehistoric stick welder_________________________________
