so the company i work for is a little bit, well, i dont really know the word for it, but they dont change the tungsten grinding wheels very often, so after about a week of 7 or 8 guys sharpening their electrodes once or twice a day, its pretty worn out...and this makes it a pain in the *** to get a nice consistent sharp point...anybody got any affordable solutions that i can do in my booth?  they havent changed the wheels in over 2 weeks now!  both wheels on the grinder are ground to a very uneven 45 degree angle!  its sooooooo frustrating!
Reply:Get an $8.00 wheel dresser and dress the wheels.A butterfly without wings, is just an ugly bug

Reply:that portable grinder looks like a good idea, thanks!...and magnetic, wouldnt a facer contaminate the wheel, thus contaminating the tungston?  or can you get one made out of tungston?
Reply:I've used this grinder before, and it's got plenty of power for tungsten sharpening...and it's small enough to put in your toolbox.http://www.harborfreight.com/cpi/cta...emnumber=43533
Reply:Its diamond faced.  NO need to sharpen.  I have a complete catalog.  They sell a lot of them.  I wouldn't think there would be any problem.Esab Migmaster 250Lincoln SA 200Lincoln Ranger 8Smith Oxy Fuel setupEverlast PowerPlasma 80Everlast Power iMIG 160Everlast Power iMIG 205 Everlast Power iMIG 140EEverlast PowerARC 300Everlast PowerARC 140STEverlast PowerTIG 255EXT

Reply:I agree wholeheartedly. Diamonds are good on machine tools like a surface grinder where you chuck the tool then move the table. Or free hand to make a shaped wheel.A butterfly without wings, is just an ugly bug
