Took my 250 lb chipper in the shop to sharpen the blade . I have a 5" drop from the door threshold to the shop floor. I'd been telling myself since we moved here to build a ramp to get the heavy stuff in and out. Well yesterday I started taking the chipper out the door and I guess I was having a weak moment. Couldn't pull the chipper up the step, so I rolled it ahead a little and jumped it up the step. Yeah, it jumped up the step and then tipped over on me. No serious injury, just banged the inside of my right knee enough to really get my attention, so I decided it was time to build that ramp I'd talked to myself so long about. Just kept it simple but strong, so maybe it will keep me from getting myself in trouble again. I drilled a couple of holes thru it on each corner next to the floor and then drilled a couple of 1/4" holes in the concrete to drop some bolts in so it can't slide but I can still remove it easily to clean up leaves and whatever out from under the ramp. Reply:Good deal. Now you don't have to think about how you're gonna get the heavy things in and out."The things that will destroy America are prosperity at any price, peace at any price, safety first instead of duty first, the love of soft living and the get rich quick theory of life." -Theodore Roosevelt
Reply:Nice fix, but a question. How do you keep the water out??????

Reply:Looks good. Now just get some caution paint on that thing and you are golden.Come try it out and stay a while.
Reply:IF your going to plan on taking anything bigger than that chipper through there you might want to add another set of bracing for cheep insurance. Other than that some paint and your good to go.Vantage 500's LN-25's, VI-400's, cobramatics, Miller migs, synch 350 LX, Powcon inverters, XMT's, 250 Ton Acurrpress 12' brake, 1/4" 10' Atlantic shear,Koikie plasma table W/ esab plasmas. marvel & hyd-mech saws, pirrana & metal muncher punches.
