What would YOU get?

I got a bonus at work that the BOSS (wife) does not know about...I have all the HD stuff I need and was looking for something around the house, ie.: to play with. What would you get?Choices are:1. Welding machine that plugs into wall - no noise. One that I can stick and Mig with. (The current welder is a diesel rig.)2. Dedicated roll around Mig / Flux Core machine.3. Reply:Probably a "plug in" mig, as long as it's 230v and not 110v. As far as a mig/stick machine, as long as it's a decent machine like an XMT 304 or one of the newer TA's or the new Miller and would run on 230v power and not one of the cheap imports.Even though you say it's just for around the house, I'd still want a machine that would run on 230v power. The newer 110v/220v machines like the new Multimatic 200 from Miller, Passport Plus, MM211, Hobart HH210MVP and so on would all be good choices if you had to have a machine that would run on 110v power as they allow you to do more than sheet metal. I'd add the Maxstar and Dynasty if you wanted a stick/tig machine..No government ever voluntarily reduces itself in size. Government programs, once launched, never disappear. Yes it's extra money in your pocket, Yes it's because your work appreciates what you've done for them. and Yes the wife will be upset if you spend it all on yourself. especially if you don't tell her about it. That being said, it's dependent on what you can get with half the bonus, because the other half should be spent either on her alone, or on something for both of you around the house.after that, I'd got with a dedicated roll around Mig that can plug into 230v.There are no problems. Reply:The idea is to get something to play around the house with.  A decent sized plasma set up with all the gouging accessories.  I sure would test this option out.  I can't say it would be the end choice but often taking stuff apart is more fun.Fran

Reply:Hey guys, it's not that I don't love her or want to support her...she makes her own money, cash, sometimes more than I make. Everytime I get something 'extra' she winds up figuring out a way to spend it. Everytime she gets something 'extra' I don't get any in return. Meaning I don't get squat! Going on 12 years and looking forward to another 12, or more. Only caveat to this is if I get caught , she like Louis Viton and her nickname is Emelda Marcos - I'll leave it at that! I have learned to play 'plead for forgiveness' and the lost puppy dog eyes very well!I am looking at the Multimatic (although all I have ever had is RED), and the 240v plug in migs.
