I own cylinder, to be used for TIG welding mild steel only. Cylinder was new, never filled before, so I had it filled, and the clowns in Montana, where I was living for 6 months, filled it wrong, in error, with 25% CO2 and 75% argon. I know that it can be used for MIG, but I have no Mig welder, and I hate to dump the gas into the atmosphere without welding use, SO WHAT WOULD YOU SUGGEST I DO? I want, of course, to refill cylinder with 100% argon, but what to do with existing gas in cylinder?
Reply:Take cylinder back to welding supply place, tell them the cylinder was filled with the wrong gas, they will (should) give you a replacement cylinder with the correct plain argon fill. The best laid schemes ... Gang oft agley ...
Reply:He may have moved.1) Craigslist it for an attractive price.2) If the store was a chain, see if they will honor a replacement from a different city.Good luckLincoln PowerMig 180cVictor O/ABandaids and aspirinI don't know what I don't know!?
Reply:Take it to a welding shop and see if you can trade it for another cylinder filled with argon. If your cylinder is still full, the shop may do the trade with you just to get your future business, or may charge you a small fee for the trade.MM350P/Python/Q300MM175/Q300DialarcHFHTP MIG200PowCon300SMHypertherm380ThermalArc185Purox oaF350CrewCab4x4LoadNGo utilitybedBobcat250XMT304/Optima/SpoolmaticSuitcase12RC/Q300Suitcase8RC/Q400Passport/Q300Smith op |
