HI guys, just bought a brand new lincoln 140c yesterday, hope to try it out today. I do mainly all sheet metal work and have a 255c for larger stuff. Question, will a 10/3 50ft extension cord provide enough power, or will I lose too much power with it?

Reply:So on the highest setting I can use a 10/3 50 ft extension cord and not lose any power? Sounds good thankyou. I hope I like the new welder.
Reply:Yup. Typical rating for 10ga. conductor is 30amp and at only 50' long the 10/3 will be great.MM200 w/Spoolmatic 1Syncrowave 180SDBobcat 225G Plus - LP/NGMUTT Suitcase WirefeederWC-1S/Spoolmatic 1HF-251D-1PakMaster 100XL '68 Red Face Code #6633 projectStar Jet 21-110Save Second Base!
Reply:Sounds great thankyou! I hope the welder works out well. I was having a tough time deciding between the miller and the lincoln...Went with the Lincoln 140c.
Reply:I have run my small welder on a 100ft 10/3 cord. It pulled it. The cord got a little warm after a few hours. You will be in great shape. And then, after so much work...... you have it in your hand, and you look over to your side...... and the runner has run off. Leaving you holding the prize, wondering when the runner will return. |
