Reply:i commented about this many times since my only 60 post hahabut here we go another time!in my opinion everything about the lens working, the quality of the item in general is very great, it made to pass the years, and not look like a toy!i can't comment about the ''color'' because i never used a lot of AD helmet, for me the shade that the Nexgen lens make is good for me, onje of my friend tried it and tell me it was a bit too dark when ''clear'' between weld flash! for my its just perfect, its probably depend if the lighting is good in your shop!the big plus for me is the fact that they work with standard large clear lens wich is mean you can convert your AD helmet in a fix shade with all standard clear and green shaded lens, its a good thing if its break or something! you can't do that with those star trek shape of miller and speedglass!Calculator > Bevel Square
Reply:I like mine. After 9 years the rubber insulation between the front and rear lenses in the NexGen element is starting to ooze out into the viewing window, obstructing the view out of my right eye. I'm talking about the internal insulation, not the rubber 'frame' that the shield's outer clear lens fits into.Personally, I use the tint on 'grind' mode for torch work, and don't use the torch mode for anything. When I replace this NexGen element, I'll replace it with another just like it.
Reply:I loved mine right up until it hit the concrete. I miss it.Tim Beeker.
Reply:The gold/orange puddle color of the Nexgen is the reason I sold a Speedglas. It is extremely sharp and easy on the eyes. I also like the fact that you can use regular flat protection plates, instead of expensive hood specific protective lenses that are not always available at every LWS.

Concrete, asphalt, dirt -- it's hit 'em all. After reading your post maybe I should be more careful. |
