I found out today that running 1/8 inch 6010 rod DCEN at 120 amps cuts almost as fast as a gas cutting torch. It makes a lot of noise also. I would say it cuts twice as fast as DCEPI was thinking of buying a plasma cutter, but I think this will work for most of the cutting I need to do. I am glad I found a use for these rods because I sure can't make a good looking weld with them.
Reply:Dip them in water before you use it to cut. Works even better.
Reply:They call it 'hotrodding'. The more amperage you use, the better it works. Beware the smoke, as it'll scare the paints out of the safety guys if they're not expecting it.Benson's Mobile Welding - Dayton, OH metro area - AWS Certified Welding Inspector
