#1 Your boss let you go home because there is not enough work for you (being laid off)This one give you a chance to go somewhere else getting more different exprience and being paid faster/better than health care/unemployment (don't know what is the right name for this in the US)#2 Your boss keep you for 1 or 2 month in the shop to do cleaning and change light bulbs and do boring stuff ?This one is really boring!***Here's not my situation, so don't tell me ''the economy is bad these days you should stay at work and love your boss and lick he's feet''  i want to know in general***Calculator > Bevel Square

Reply:Sounds like a real good time for YOU to look around and find work at your currnet job.  So go with #2 and make your self shine. I don't know  what your job is or how your company is set up, but if you make your self better than others, then maybe they will be laid off and you get to stay.  There is an option #3 like another said.Dan

Reply:A coworker once said," its not what you do but what you do in your time off that counts".An employee of mine said," I work to support my time off".I personally work so I can live and weld.  I know of  a few who live so they can work but thats a different story.

Reply:Some of you seem to laugh at me ? like if i was in this situation and stupid to don't know what to do.I already know for some people it could be hard to find job, sometimes because of themself and often due to economy or work aera, i'm not in this situation now, i'm not searching for a job, i'm not laid off, but i've been in this situation in the past.Now my friend is in this situation, and he think its better for him to stay at work doing stupid things instead to go somewhere else, i was just wondering about what peoples from everywhere (internet haha) could think!don't worry, i know what should i do if something happen with my job, always keeping informed about place that hire and always has resumes in my car!Calculator > Bevel Square
Reply:When we got slow in the shop a few years ago, I setup a 4 day rotation.. half shop took off Monday, the other half took off on Friday...A couple guys with their own mowing business's took off 2 days a week.. I put the less experienced guys on clean up detail, even had them cleaning the bathrooms.. no one was laid off, no one lost their job..
