This one isn't original by any means. Bits and pieces copied of of ones I've seen here and at other sites, so if this looks familiar to some guys it should. The 1st two pics are of the roller in the down position. In the 3rd pic I've loosened the set screws at the bottom and pulled the top roller out along with the arms the middle section slide on. This leaves the middle section sort of precariously perched there. I'd only do this for maintenance reasons normally. The 4th pic shows all the main sections seperated. Reply:Here's a couple pics of the top section plus I found a slice of one of the rollers and spare ends I'd made. These ends could very well be leftovers from another hair brained project too. I generally always make at least one more than necessary just for giggles. These rollers were a poor boys roller. I cut specific lengths of two different diameters of pipe then using the larger press pressed one into the other. You coul actually feel the swell from the force fit when doing it. Then I did a few plug welds. The end pieces were recessed into the larger outer pipe. Being just pipe there has bee some scarring as time rolls on. Reply:Here's one in the full up position. As a note if I get a heavy gauge ring trapped on there I can loosen the set screws that are on the ends of the flange/pillow bearings and slide that top roller back. Of course these bearings also allow quite a bit of swivel too so all I have to do is slide it back paste that flange bearing at the far end and roll it up via the pillow at the handle end. Reply:This thing is wider and heavier than what I really need. If I was to build another it would be way way narrower.I think the widest I've rolled is about 3 inches?? Rolled a set of tail light rings. Everything else has been two inch minus. Next set of tail light rings I used my mickey brake. Rectangular and a lot easier.Last edited by Sandy; 07-16-2010 at 11:50 PM.Reason: Add to"The things that will destroy America are prosperity at any price, peace at any price, safety first instead of duty first, the love of soft living and the get rich quick theory of life." -Theodore Roosevelt

Reply:I was laughing at the tape on the ends of the two bottom rollers. Number 1 I was gonna paint. As you can see this is a patch work of primer and even that isn't complete. Not many of my projects ever get to the 100% stage. . Number 2 I was going to put sprockets on the two bottom rollers for a more positive rolling action. That's another "ain't gonna happen" just looking back at it now."The things that will destroy America are prosperity at any price, peace at any price, safety first instead of duty first, the love of soft living and the get rich quick theory of life." -Theodore Roosevelt
Reply:Great post, awesome pictures, very self explanatory, leaves little room for questions. I also thought about the sprocket and chain and you had that coverd too. Thanks for posting and I'm sure it will be copied many times.
Reply:Straight forward and tidy build there Sandy, thanksMatt
