Brink M.E.'s Weldanpower 150 Electric Start & Running Gear Upgrades

OK, so last Chrismas the Lincoln Weldanpower 150 I restored (http://weldingweb.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=30753) was given to Brink M.E. (Mike) as a combination Graduation/Christmas present but it had to be given in a semi-completed state due to my inability to finish it in time.As I stated to member DSW in member gordoflow's thread (http://weldingweb.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43441), plans called for the conversion to electric start - following a comment by David R early on in the restore thread.Post 'gift giving' discussions between Mike and I resulted in us deciding to add a 'hide away' towing tongue to the running gear in the event he wanted/needed to transport the unit any distance (off road of course).I had the parts required for the electric start thanks to an 11hp vertical shaft B&S engine on one of two worn out Dixon ZTR mower 'donations' and we had already gathered up and set aside the critical pieces for the towing tongue so after changing out the single output AC only stator for the dual circuit unit and flywheel (original was missing a magnet) from the ZTR and installing the starter I moved forward with the upgrades yesterday.A little repeat of a previous post, the original single output AC only stator on the right, replacement dual circuit AC/DC stator from the ZTR on the left.Starter installed and AC 'field flashing' output routed thru welder housing grommet in place of original.Flashing output connected to flashing diode.1-1/2" angle for battery tray fitted and ready for welding in.Battery in position.  Still need to fabricate hold-down and mount START button once Mike and I get together on a position and wire it up.Stand by for post #2 with the towing tongue . . .MM200 w/Spoolmatic 1Syncrowave 180SDBobcat 225G Plus - LP/NGMUTT Suitcase WirefeederWC-1S/Spoolmatic 1HF-251D-1PakMaster 100XL '68 Red Face Code #6633 projectStar Jet 21-110Save Second Base!

Reply:A quick update.I didn't take any detail shots but I added two rear facing 'J' brackets along the sides of the storage basket to hold the 50', 40A extension cord.  Coiled up, the basket is still accessible thru the center of the coil or from the top.Also added a bumper across the front I wanted to protect the weld output connectors and front of the unit.Mike and I decided on a location for the START button but I didn't get it mounted today.  Will have to wait for some evening this week and get it wired up.Tossed it back together for a quick photo shoot with it hooked up and ready for transport.Thanks for looking.MM200 w/Spoolmatic 1Syncrowave 180SDBobcat 225G Plus - LP/NGMUTT Suitcase WirefeederWC-1S/Spoolmatic 1HF-251D-1PakMaster 100XL '68 Red Face Code #6633 projectStar Jet 21-110Save Second Base!
