I am having problems with the wire feed on my welder, when I lift up the cover to watch the spool spin I see the wheels spinning on the welder but it is not grabbing, I am not sure if it is friction, but I tighten the spring that holds the contraption down, does not do anything, the wire comes out in spurts? I am using .035 wire, I have 75/25 gas and using it off of my dryer plug in. In which the last 30 days I have been welding 1/4 steel, I have had a couple certified welders getting me going on this, and everything was great until tonight. Please let me know what you might think what the problem was. I have the setting at J and wire speed at 8 Thanks

Reply:My guess would be the same as duaneb55. But you may want to look at the feed tension arm also. Attached Imageswww.georgesplasmacuttershop.comPlasma Cutter and Welder Sales and Repairs--Ebay storeTec.Mo. Dealer Consumables for the PT and IPT torch's |
