Here are a couple pix of a few trailers I have built in the recent past.  The 18' foot car trailer is the one I use to haul my biggest challenge to date, a street rod.  I still have the 14' utility trailer and I use it regularly.  I sold the 8' foot single axle a while back to finance another project.More pix to come.dmc Attached Images

Reply:Thanks everyone for the kind words.  Trailers were my hobby for a while until the steel prices went through the roof!
Reply:No kidding, I used to build them to supplement my income but can barely turn a profit. And the larger the trailer the harder it gets to make money building one. If you buy enough for ten trailers, then it might be worth your while but that turns into a large money commitment.UA Local 598
Reply:What size was the steel for the main parts of the trailer, looks like channel?
Reply:The main channel is 5".  The cross members are 4" space at 24".  I was building a few here and there but most folks wanted me to "give" them my time even though I was charging the minimum for a custom built unit.  It got to be so bad I just said the heck with it.

Reply:That shop is so clean, are you sure you do work in it?....   Nice job.  Even the trailer manufacturers prices went up recently.  I budgeted materials with the Northern Tools plans but came within a couple hundred of buying new and that didn't include my time.  Around here there are so many people selling off toys and trailers that you can get a pretty decent trailer used for about half of new.

Reply:I definitely work in the shop.  Here is another shot of the car trailer when I was building it.  If you could see the shop right now it looks like a bunch of spiders threw hand grenades in there and closed the doors.  I do have to clean a lot as I go since the dogs are in and out so much.  I can't afford to stop and take them to the vet if they get metal in their feet.Here are a couple more pix. Reply:My wife talked me into putting the extra door on the back and I'm glad I did.  This is the best spot in my yard during the summer.  The shop faces North-to-South and there is a constant breeze.  I actually have to close the front doors when I weld with shielding gas so the breeze does not blow it away.  In the winter I keep the front doors closed and the way the sun comes across the back it warms up fairly nice.  I do have heaters if I need them, but not often.  The shop is insulated and I blew 6 inches of insulation in the attic.  This also makes a great place to take a nap (notice the lazey boys on rollers).dmc

Reply:Jman, if you are referring to the single axle trailer I might be able to dig up some stuff on it.  The panels are 5/4 deck boards with rounded edges and they appear darker because they wet.  That is actually the third one of those that I have built.  If you have any specific questions feel free to ask.  I'll tell you what I know.dmc
