I have a shower tent, I am just wondering if any of you had made some camping showers (heated), and what you would/would not change about it.The Lord has declared, "This is my work and my glory--to bring to pass the immortality and eternal life of man"  Moses 1:39Link: My name is John, and I am a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.-- ColdCreekWorks.com --

Reply:I love the ingenuity, but for all that, I think I'll stick to a good old wash cloth and basin. I remember as a kid, sitting in a plastic basin in the camper having a bath. Still got the basin, but I ain't fittin' in it no more!!!200amp Air Liquide MIG, Hypertherm Plasma, Harris torches, Optrel helmet, Makita angle grinders, Pre-China Delta chop saw and belt sander, Miller leathers, shop made jigs etc, North- welders backpack.

Reply:http://www.zodi.com/Look at how these work, basically a pump and a propane burner with a copper tube wound around it. I have one and it works pretty well..... if the water is really cold you have to pump it through once (preheat) into a bucket and then again for your shower. Haven't used it for a while but it's a  lot better than a solar shower. Should be pretty easy to make your own.HH 187Miller Bluestar1EAHP AlphaTig 200X

Reply:Originally Posted by RojodiabloI have used a water can, with a tap brazed on the bottom. I've used a SS cook-pot that was $1.50 at Goodwill with a latching top. Welded a spout on the bottom. Heat it, hoist it, and jump under it for a hot shower. You can get really cold diving in CenCal/ NorCal, and depending on where you are camping, there may be no hot water showers. On my boat I use a shower bag; they do well if the weather is sunny. But you can't heat them up very well, unless you get some water hot, and add it tot the shower bag. Whatever it takes!!

Reply:Ok I made one before no pics But will tell you how I did it Build a Alum tank 1'x1' by 2' long mount a temp gauge on the bottom of tank Now on the 1' end add a fitting for a 12 volt pump. put a small sheild between tank and pump. Get a two burner coleman stove to heat Alum tank. Than build a pipe Square to mount showwer head add for pipes at the corner to stick conduit in to desired height. add curtent rings and curtents. good luck need a drawling I will make one. Reply:I did some fairly extensive research on making one - heat exchangers built into a vehicle and using the vehicles coolant system, others that go into a fire, and even some that are fully self contained.  I was all set to start the project when the Coleman hot water on demand went on sale for $150 Can.  After looking at it and realizing that it was basically exactly what I was going to build, I just bought that and it totally rocks.  With a fully charged battery and full propane tank you can sit it down next to a lake/stream/pond and have as much hot water as you want.

Reply:Canadian Tire.  It would go on sale there regularly but I recently was looking to get a second one (yes, I like them that much - want to have one in the camper, and another for the jeep) and saw that Can Tire doesn't even carry them anymore.  Strikes me as quite odd as they seem to be a pretty big distributor for the Coleman stuff.Originally Posted by jdh239I like the heating it up on a stove idea.  Wondering where I might be able to fine a SS bucket (probably cheaper than having to buy SS and build it myself as I would have to pick up some gas, wire, steel, time, and so forth)
Reply:Originally Posted by RojodiabloGoodWill, Salvation Army, swap meet. Get the biggest boiling pot you can find with a lid. Use some rod/ wire from the handles on the side to hoist it.... rope might not like the heat of the pot for too long, but it does fine for me usually. Cheap pot, used, beaten up....$5 or so.
