It's been a rough week and it's not over yet (still at work). We had a guy leave us and we're behind on so many projects. Our plasma stepper motor crapped out Friday evening so we couldnt get a replacement part ordered. Saturday morning a guy was waiting for 2 wrenches made of 3/4" plate and a ring from 1 1/4 plate. So I had to cut them by hand.. Yet the bid was based on 1 hour of plasma.. It took me nearly 3 1/2 hours by hand. I came in early Thursday to weld a plate to a bucket so they could get their 5 1/2" depth they required for a sidewalk. It came back later that day because it fell off after 20 minutes of use. I welded it to the blade with .045 spray and didnt see any issues or heard any cracking. Turns out it was of some kind of D2 material. So I had to put it on the inside and throw some stiffeners on it because I couldnt weld one side. And finially: I have to complete 5 columns by Monday morning to be shipped south to the job site. I have a few hundred studs to weld on, feet, awning attachments and a few other odds and ends... Inspected by CWI.. Oh yeah.. They have to be painted red oxide. Oh... And there are two other jobs amounting to about 12 hours of work that needed to be done by friday before last and last tuesday. Reply:We rented the stud machine for the week.. For 5/8" studs, it required us to tap into 3 phase 240 @ 90 amps. Attached ImagesCommon sense in an uncommon degree is what the world calls wisdom.

Reply:We rented from Cascade nut and bolt out of Portland Oregon.. They also supplied the studs and other hardware for this project so I'm thinking we'll get a decent deal on the price.Common sense in an uncommon degree is what the world calls wisdom. |
