My dad wants me to take that old rusted piece of metal on the right of the pic that he dug out of the barn and make him a new shock support like the old rusted one on the left in the pic.lol.It came off his old 1977 ford f-100 farm truck that hasn't seen a public highway in over 20 years. He was coming back from the river and the shock and shock support fell off and was dragging on the rear-end.I would just rather go and find him one instead of making one, they are riveted on so I will have to take a grinder with me to get one off of another truck frame.I have a friend who's dad has an old ford truck setting in a field by his barn that I might scavenge one off of.I like doing that sort of stuff so I might try and make him one and if it don't come out as I want,I still might go and get that one off of my friend's dad truck. He has already tried to weld it before but it is so rusted it just keeps breaking somewhere else. Reply:Check the one in the field that you can get parts from..If it's good then it would be worth it to keep dad smiling..After all you stated you like this stuff..Might want to get whatever you could off it..May come in handy in the future.....zap!I am not completely insane..Some parts are missing Professional Driver on a closed course....Do not attempt.Just because I'm a dumbass don't mean that you can be too.So DON'T try any of this **** l do at home.
Reply:It looks like the old piece he dug out the barn has a hole in the center, and it looks to me it might be a shank from an old cultivator or harrow, which is spring steel, and not the best material to make that out of. Try to find a new piece of material,(shouldn't cost that much) it will be easier to work with, than the rusty one.
Reply:it's been broke for about 3 weeks now, plus it has some broke leafs on the springs on the other side, something to do when it gets cold and not much else happening.Maxus Pro-125 MigChicago Electric 90 amp DC flux-coreLincoln Electric AC 225 tombstoneO/A torchM/O mini-torch10 acres of flatland15 acres of holler |
