Was going to go through the pics forum and go through each topic but thought maybe some people didnt post smaller things. I want to see all your imaginations with things you have made, From candle holders to entire fences and trailers. I have a few ideas drawn out but I feel they are all lacking something, I want to see if its just my ocd or there really is something missing.25 years of age.Been welding since Feb 23rd 2009.LU1007 Millwright (A1)
Reply:You want to see "Imagination"...Like something that is in your head and then "Made To Order"...That would be a loaded question..We all here have done "This and That" as far as making stuff goes...Some work to blueprints that pretty much spell it out for ya..IF the "Engineer" has a clue...Some just "Wing It"...Are you just looking for anything "Homemade?"...zap!I am not completely insane..Some parts are missing Professional Driver on a closed course....Do not attempt.Just because I'm a  dumbass don't mean that you can be too.So DON'T try any of this **** l do at home.

Reply:Now that there is just pure awesome, I cant wait to be at that level of talent. As I look back at my drawings I am clearly missing the talent aspect of things, ATM im working on making a few "walls" As i have no garage to weld in, once I get some walls made up I cant wait to start making some ideas and learn from the critics made here.25 years of age.Been welding since Feb 23rd 2009.LU1007 Millwright (A1)

Reply:I'm a hobbyist, and still on my first tank of gas -- so I'm not going to impress anyone with the quality of my welds or my engineering skill.  But my first project was to build my yard a little wrought iron fence.  At the same time, I used some pipe to make my kid a swingset:More recently, I made a shade cover for the patio/courtyard area at the front of the house.(As you can see, there is no snow load issue where I live.  We'll see about wind.)Jack OlsenMy garage website
Reply:Looks awesome Jack, great looking fence. The company I use to work for made fences similar, made good coin off them.25 years of age.Been welding since Feb 23rd 2009.LU1007 Millwright (A1)

Reply:I really like that swing set too Jack, Ive got a 3 yr old son and a 11 month old daughter who would love to have a GOOD swing set. Right now my son plays on the little hunks of crap you get at wal mart. Ill have to make him something bigger, he is always asking to go higher. Love that idea, And that way I can dress it up to become part of the yard rather then just a swing set.25 years of age.Been welding since Feb 23rd 2009.LU1007 Millwright (A1)

Reply:Well... I don't know if this qualifies to be here... no welding, no brazing BUT it did involve 244 solder joints!   Also, I did use my imagination. You see, I had this water-proof flashlight (Ever-Ready) that had been around for years. But with only a single, old-style tungsten bulb, it was not very bright. (like me )I had used a few of those rechargeable big-head quartz laterns but they used a 6 volt lead-acid battery, a 25 watt quartz-halogen bulb... so while bright, the light only lasted about 20 minutes.Using my imagination... I cut into the reflector and replaced the old-style tungsten bulb with ~122 leds!  (That's where I had to solder to make 244 joints = 122 LEDs each with two leads to a circuit board.)I replaced the 3 D-cell batteries with a rechareable battery that I made using a card-board tube containing three series-wired sets of 3 AA-cells (Nickel Metal Hydride - each 1.2 volts @ 2.5 Amp/hour) wired in parallel.  This gave me a battery of 3.6 volts at 7.5 Amp/hour = 27 watt-hours.  At 3.6 volts, each led burns up about 0.08 watts, so 122 leds draws about 10 watts.  My flashlight is good for about 27/10 = ~2.5 hours!  Yes, it's real bright!Rick V 1 Airco Heliwelder 3A/DDR3 CTC 70/90 amp Stick/Tig Inverters in Parallel1 Lincoln MIG PAK 151 Oxy-Acet

Reply:Here's a TV stand that I made out of 2" erw.  The stainless top was a waste because once the TV is on it, it just reflects the black of the TV.  It was really more about learning to use the bender and how to measure tube that is being bent, but it is the way that I wanted it to beRene
