Hey Folks,Is anyone using some of these 'X' brand Welding, Brazing or Cutting tips for Victor Torches ?I've seen a HUGE difference in Price between the TIPS being sold for Victor from Thermadyne VS names like "Anchor Brand, Gentec and Metalmaster".I'm a Victor guy and have had no problems so I'm pretty happy with them but the pricing difference is like 6 -1Any input is appreciated...Cheers,/Jman...
Reply:I have used various brands of cutting tips including some of the brand X stuff.  Had no problems with them.  I used the off brand stuff mostly when that was what was available in the size or type tip I needed at the time.  I was surprised at the cost difference in most cases for the off brand.
Reply:as a hobbyist i might cut 1/2 an hour a week and maybe weld 2 hours more. it dont pay me to shop this stuff, it lasts a long time.first time i get a defective bargain tip any savings would be lost  in changing it out.
Reply:Yeah,I dunno...  Both valid points for sure.  I think when it comes to Acetylene, I might go VICTOR (which I've done..) but now I want some more Propylene / Propane "Brazing Tips" and because they are of the 'two-piece' variety, I just can't see how a 'screw on brazing TIP being ANY different than any another....Cheers,/Jman...
