Here's a picture of my welding table.  Since I don't have a big shop and a lot of space, it is important for me to have a lot of compact storage on the table itself.  I put plenty of wheel and spool pegs under the table top, a hand grinder hanger, and a vise that is easily removed.  The table is on wheels in order to roll it out of the garage when in use.  Adding racks, pegs, hooks, and hangers to this can be addicting.  At some point one has to stop and say "enough" or it will get too cluttered.  I would LOVE to see other people's welding tables and get some ideas on "tricking them out".  I would like to have a dedicated thread to "Tricking out your Welding Table".   If anyone has any ideas or pictures, please post them here.  I would really enjoy seeing them. Reply:I just wish I had a welding table Qualified & experienced at welding scrap metal
Reply:Is that an optical illusion, but that second photo looks like the table has a curve in the top ?

Reply:A little of both... the camera makes for most of the quality of the picture.. but the photographer makes for the composition which is the important part... the fish eye effect of the camera could be removed via software, but for what its worth the pic is fine.. the table is better :PNever argue with an idiot. They drag you down to their level, then beat you with years of experience.

Reply:[QUOTE=eyspy;422221]Is that an optical illusion, but that second photo looks like the table has a curve in the top ?[I haven't noticed the top to be curved.  It seems to work well for me.  I don't claim to be a professional welder or photographer.  And to add to it, my camera is a real piece of manure.  I got suckered in to one of those Christmas door buster sales on it.  It takes really low quality pictures.... But on the bright side, I now have a good fishing/stream/shop camera that I can abuse and not worry about.Back to the table:  I'm sure it's not perfect..... I haven't built anything yet that would qualify as museum-quality.http://www.youtube.com/user/c599209/videos
Reply:As I have just started welding, my table isn't "tricked" out yet. Is there a TV show out there that will take it and trick it out for me?  Haha, anyway here is the table I built as my first project. I will be watching this thread to see what I can do to my table to trick it out some. Cheers,JSP
Reply:Beautiful!  I like the storage / tool box!  I would like to add a big drawer under my top... I will probably do that at some point.  Great pics.... Great jobhttp://www.youtube.com/user/c599209/videos
Reply:I built my table last year and added peg boards, an electrical strip, and ac wire holder. Also have an easy to remove table for my abrasive saw. (not shown)Steve Attached ImagesJunkYard Tools .com

Reply:Thanks JSP. It's kinda cluttered here but here's a photo of my abrasive saw table attachment. It comes out level with the table for more accurate cutting.Steve Attached ImagesLast edited by rookie_steve; 09-16-2010 at 12:48 PM.JunkYard Tools .com
Reply:love the chop saw side table and the peg boards. NICEhttp://www.youtube.com/user/c599209/videos
Reply:Just giving you a hard time, but it doesn't look like horizontal surfaces stand a chance in your house. Even the rungs of the step ladder are covered... There's a saying here: "Horizontal surfaces collect garbage." Truer words were never uttered. I wish I could put a pitched top on everything here.  Originally Posted by rookie_steveThanks JSP. Reply:I like your idea for the broken file to sharpen soap stone, just going out now to add it to mine before I forget. I will add it vertically so that the dust will just fall to the floor. I had been sharpening mine on the concrete floor till now. Thanks for the good idea. Reply:+1 more for the soapstone sharpener.  Definetly gonna steal that idea.  I also like the the side table for the chop saw, beats cutting on the ground.    Here are some pix of my welding table build, which is still on going, especially with all the great ideas in this forum. Reply:A couple of benches modified.
Reply:That looks too nice to weld on.  I'd build a glass case and display ithttp://www.youtube.com/user/c599209/videos
Reply:That table is sharp and that was a great idea to put a hitch reciever on the side for the vice.
Reply:I like the ability to turn the mounting plate at any angle and height adjustment.  Also like that all your welding gear is by your table. Great work space!
Reply:I put a video of the bench I built some time ago showing a few of the features I added. Now that been using it for a while it's worked out pretty good. I've got a couple other benches in the shop and cabinets and stuff so didn't have to worry too much about storage on this bench.AlLast edited by SmokinPRanch; 09-24-2010 at 12:28 AM.Reason: Added YouTube code.A man is judged by what's between his legs...always ride a good horseMiller DialArc HFLincoln Classic 300DThermal Arc 181iPowermax 45Scotchman Ironworker(2) BridgeportsOkomota Surface GrinderAutoCAD 2010
Reply:My welding table looks strangely similar to all those posted, except somewhat lower...  way lower...  as in the concrete below them!!!!I have a nice stand I made for my drill press but with a 1.5 car garage I dont have room for a welding table.  I would love to have one but its just not in the cards right now.  Currently all my welding is done on my knees on the garage floor or in the driveway, which makes clamping things a bit of a challenge, and very  hard on the back and knees.Originally Posted by ggarnerI have a nice stand I made for my drill press but with a 1.5 car garage I dont have room for a welding table.  I would love to have one but its just not in the cards right now.
