Disfigured solid brass coffee table....

Hey guys,Here is a repair that came in this week from a lady who was going to sell it for scrap. My neighbor who operates a furniture resto shop showed me this table earlier in the year & asked if I could fix it. Yup.... told her what had to be done, I would only do a 1st class job on it, & the approx. cost. The lady said..."WHAT? HOW MUCH?". She took it home & recently had guests at her home & one of them told her that it was a very unique piece & was quite valuable. Some research placed the value over $500 bottom value.... probably much more. It had a smoked glass top.Apparently, the piece got damaged in transit & her nephew said he could fix it....duuuhhhh. He tried to stick weld it with some brass rod I guess. Anyway, she called & asked me if I was still interested in fixing it....YUP!  When she brought it over to the shop, I explained what had to be done very detailed so she understood the cost. She agreed & related how she found out the value & was glad she didn't sell it to the scrap guy.I used O/A to re-melt the crap welds & get it apart. The I straightened the entire lower unit, cleaned the weld joints with a small carbide die grinder, & started doing one joint at a time. I used 60/40 sil-sol w/Lucas-Milhaupt paste flux...... took a lot of heat to get the sil-sol flowing as this was solid brass. Each joint came out quite nicely & I lightly used the die grinder to re-conform each of the joints to original configuration. After re-configuring each joint, I lightly sanded w/240 grit to a semi-polish & brighten the brass to original color.It came out nicely & the lady was quite pleased, especially when my neighbor, the furniture resto lady, came over to look at it & told her she did the right thing as it had quite a value. Reply:Good Job!!Nice save as to say..The results are quite astonishing!!...zap!I am not completely insane..Some parts are missing Professional Driver on a closed course....Do not attempt.Just because I'm a  dumbass don't mean that you can be too.So DON'T try any of this **** l do at home.
