Hello all,I am new to these forums so I apologize if this is posted in the wrong area. I have been welding for a living for about 4 1/2 years. My current job allows me a lot of free time, so I was looking for a way to cure my boredom on my long weekends. I have heard of a lot of welders getting a contract to weld product "x" in their shop. The company that either subs them out or does it by contract will say "ok we need 250 of these to be made each month." My teacher in school did this on his down time. I guess my question is how do I bid on one of these contracts? What steps do I take to get started? Tips? Do I need to know a guy who knows a guy? Is there a website to browse these contracts? If you do this how did you get into it?Any help would be greatly appreciated.Thank you,Tyler
