Jackson 370 headgear..??

Reply:Where did you find it? Im having trouble finding it. I love my jackson hood but I need a new headgear the original one is about worn out and it droops and the adjustment screws just spin. Reply:UPDATE!Well the 370 arrived and I went and picked it up and used it a little today.  IT WORKS GOOD!  The detents in the rotating mechanism definately keep the hood in the up position without falling down!  Finally!  The thing is designed so the knob tension only adjusts the speed the hood comes down and doesn't have anything to do with keeping the hood up.  The detents keep the hood up.   The head gear is also very comfortable on the head.  I like wearing it better than the original one.  Finally the EQC has a headgear worthy of the hood and lens it supports!    I'm going to order another one too for my other EQC hood.   Hopefully the local shop will start stocking these, as I could turn a few friends on to them too if they try out my hood with the new gear.Jackson should eliminate the current stock headgear and start supplying this new headgear with all new auto hoods!MM350P/Python/Q300MM175/Q300DialarcHFHTP MIG200PowCon300SMHypertherm380ThermalArc185Purox oaF350CrewCab4x4LoadNGo utilitybedBobcat250XMT304/Optima/SpoolmaticSuitcase12RC/Q300Suitcase8RC/Q400Passport/Q300Smith op

Reply:I grabbed one of these last week...The hood I put it on is fairly heavy.  HSL with glass filter plate, two clear plates, and a leather bib.  The normal headgear didn't stand a chance of keeping it up.  With the tension tight enough to keep it up, it took two or three nods to flip it down.  With the 370 headgear it stays up no problem when snapped into the up detent.  The detent is deep enough to keep the hood up even while moving my head around, but a plain old nod that ever welder knows is enough to get it to flip down.  It also has three position adjustment for how close to your face the hood comes.  If you're having problems with your Jackson hood not staying up, then this headgear is a good buy.

Reply:Not what I wanted to hear, just got my truesight, and Frankensteined the 370 head gear into 4 other hoods...  guess I need to pick up a couple sparesWhen any government, or any church for that matter, undertakes to say to its subjects, "This you may not read, this you must not see, this you are forbidden to know," the end result is tyranny and oppression, no matter how holy the motives.
