I just purchased this table used. Does anyone manufacture the clamps that fit in the X slot that are any cheaper than Miller's? I was thinking of modifying some large C clamps myself if not. I can't see spending $50 a clamp.TA Arcmaster 300CM3XMT 304S22P12 suitcase feederX-Treme 12VSOptima pulserTA161SMaxstar 150STLHypertherm PM45OP setupStihl 020AVP, 039, 066 Magnum
Reply:Here is a similar clamp, but you will need to fabricate the piece that fits the T slot yourself. They also don't seem to be as large as the Miller clamps. The website offers a larger version but it's X2 the price of the Miller clamp.http://www.adjustableclamp.com/holddownclamps-2.aspxGood clamps aren't cheap. Getting a good clamp that fits a specific purpose at a cheap price is very unlikely. You won't need more than a few of these, so buying the best for the job will only hurt once. I would buy the Miller clamps.CharleyMiller MM252Miller Bobcat 225NTMiller DialArc HF / DIY Cooler2 Victor O/A TorchsetsMilwaukee 8" Metal SawMilwaukee Dry Cut "Chop" Saw 5 Ton Wallace Gantry Various Grinders, Benders, etc.
Reply:I bought two. The are relatively expensive, but they are good clamps. Not junk c-clamps that torque and twist. IMO, a couple are worth the money. |
