Hello....I have been welding for about 15 years now, I have been with my current company for 10 years. They are really slow now and I am looking elsware. I have my mind on going to Alberta (currently in Ontario) But all the jobs require me to have a journeyman ticket. How do I go about doing this? And for me being in the industry for so long.
Reply:I can't offer anything about tickets. What processes can you do?Weld like a "WELDOR", not a wel-"DERR" MillerDynasty700DX,Dynasty350DX4ea,Dynasty200DX,Li ncolnSW200-2ea.,MillerMatic350P,MillerMatic200w/spoolgun,MKCobraMig260,Lincoln SP-170T,PlasmaCam/Hypertherm1250,HFProTig2ea,MigMax1ea.

Why do you not have your journeyman's ticket? Here is an older link that discusses the Canadian requirements-http://weldingweb.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=30533Last edited by hobohilton; 07-17-2012 at 11:49 AM.Lincoln SA200's... at least 15 - 20. Reply:OK, let me connect the dots---1) Company is slow now2) No pay raise in 4 years3) Your looking>>>>Your mission is to get the journeyman's ticket. I know... there's 1000's of guys who need it. You've got to work harder at getting it than them.Every Journeyman welder (with a pocket full of certs, BAT card, TWIXX card, Red Badge, OSHA 40 card, etc) out there has had to jump through the same hoops. It can be done if you want it bad enough.Hang in there.Lincoln SA200's... at least 15 - 20. They come and go. Growing partial to the "Short Hoods" in my old age.
