I've added another bay to my two car garage to make room for everything that I have in there.  I've waited for this since I moved into my house 15 years ago, and finally had the opportunity to get it done.     I'm very lucky to have the room and equipment that I do have.  It's been a lot of hard work and side jobs to get to where I am at.           All that is left, yeah right! is to hang some cabinets up and fix the in ceiling speakers  so they all work.  Other than that, I'm waiting for the weather to cool down some more.  It's been over 100º here is Az. still and I didn't have enough to spend on an air conditioner for the garage.  Gotta do some more side work to get the installed.Enjoy the pictures, comment if you wish.-Greg Attached Images---No good deed goes unpunished---

Reply:No wonder $ R tight, there are a LOT of very fine tools in this shop.  mebuildit    where R U at in Az?   Specter usually gives you notes on the how and where for a fella to pin point his location etc...that's how I met met Mark and Joker. A friend just got a mill.  I go by once in awhile to see the head scratching on HOW zactlee to get it where they want it in the shop.  I see how U solved that problem, First buy the milll and set it down, Next, build a beautful shop around itSometimes I think I don't really care about welding at all,  just I have this thing about tools, love 'em. enjoyLast edited by PapaLion; 10-03-2010 at 08:34 AM.Lincoln Power MIG 215Lincoln WeldPak 3200HDLincon ProCut 25Lincoln WeldanPower 225 AC/DCIf all else fails... buy more tools

Reply:I've been in this house for 15 years now, one ex wife and many girlfriends later and here I am today.  The only mistake I have ever made was you guess? (getting married?) or (selling my first Bridgeport?)    It's kinda funny that people who drive by always stop and look when I have the doors open.  Mostly guys stop and call me names, then say you have the best garage in the neighborhood...lol    I  laugh.     My current wife, (yes I did it again) is great with me and my shop.  I married her because she had her own set of tools.  Plus some other things that I can't tell you on here...ha ha.     I think that when it starts to cool down to the 90's I might start advertising in the local paper for some more side work.  My last project was a car that made it into the "Fast and Furious 4" movie.  I was very proud of that one.  Plus the guy always paid in full before he left, and kept coming back for more stuff.  But now the car is done, and I need some new projects t make some money for an A/C unit for next summer.     You all have been great to me, Thank you to all and for the nice words.  I realize that I'm new to this website, but again I really appreciate the acceptance you all have given me.Hope everyone had a great weekend.-Greg---No good deed goes unpunished---

Reply:Good morning, MEBUILDIT.What a great shop! I have a couple of questions for you.I'm going to build a new 24'x40' shop, hopefully next month, also in a neighborhood. It has to "blend into the neighborhood" so I'm deciding what would be the best materials to use. It looks like yours is stud walls instead of concrete block, but if you were starting new, which would you use? Did you use sheet rock on the walls or is there something better? I will have woodworking equipment at one end and welding equipment at the other end. I am thinking I will sheet rock and then put sheet metal around the welding area. I'm not trying to hijack your thread, but lot's of experienced guys are going to read this and anyone's suggestions are welcome, Thanks for the great pictures, I see lots of great ideas.Burt _____________________Miller Syncrowave 250Millermatic 211Miller 375 Plasma Cutter Hobart Handler 12010FtDrillBit.comBe glad I'm not your next door neighbor.  I'd never give you the opportunity to use any of your own stuff!

Reply:You guys are killing me (laughing).  See I almost finished it up over this summer, that's why it looks so pretty in there.  Plus I have had 5 sugeries over the past 5 months as well.  I'm a burn patient, and am trying to get my face back together.   Anyways, the walls have a fiberglass/ plastic that you get at Home Depot, it protects the walls from damage and chemicals.  We use that stuff where I work at and it's great!  I did that vs. putting sheet metal on the walls, since metal is so expensive these days.     As for your exterior walls, I wanted cinder block like the rest of the house, but the bill would of doubled, so I went with studs.  Also, had them put two layers of siding up, bottom layer was OSB and then the siding.  Kinda gives you some meat to hang stuff onto from the outside.  On the inside I super insulated everything, and also made a shed outside of the garage (I'll show pics later) and  moved my compressors and air dryer out there.   Plus I super insulated that too for noise, I did that for me and not my stupid neighbor the grouch next door.      As for what I have built in that shop?  Have you seen my RV gate in another post?  That was my first project inside before I had the drywall up.    My next project is probably going to be an H frame hydraulic press.  And this weekend I'm machining some engine parts for a friend of mine and installing some ramps for a trailer.    If anyone lives close to me in Scottsdale, Arizona, drop me a line.  It would be great to meet some of you guys.  All of you sound like my kind of people.  Just don't be all politically correct around me though.  I call it like I see it.  Let's have some fun or even let's all make something and meet up somewhere so all of us can meet one another.Well, I'm finishing up my lunch now, and just am laughing how much you like my queching pond out yonder.   Take care all of you great guys.-Greg---No good deed goes unpunished---
