Picked this up tonight, its a Dynasty DX, 200 amp with a chiller. Got it from a good friend, paid $1,000 for it all . I cant wait to get it goin!! i dont even think ill sleep tonight. So what do you guys think? ive never seen a dynasty with knobs... i do have the manual but does anyone know more about it.Miller Dynasty 300 DXMiller CST280Miller Maxstar 150 STH
Reply:congrats i picked mine up used from the school I go to (school is sponsored by miller since miller is based in appleton wi where the school is)and it had 4 hours strike time on it and its an 08. I still paid 1500 then I had to buy the hook ups and everything. so you got a deal my friend you will love the machine. i havent seen one with knobs either but if you take a more clear pic of the knobs panel i might be able to help a little more. I can easily find out any question you might have on any miller machine.

Reply:With those features, that's a great price, but it's not a Dynasty DX.The DX has the pulse option (and looks quite different to boot).  Not quite sure what you have.

Reply:hey man the picture is much better i can hopefully get on later tonight if not tonight sometime this weekend and give you some simple to understand directions on what the knobs do and what they will do for you welds. play around with it and have fun. let me know if you have any particular questions on anything and ill try to get them answered tonight or this weekend when i get a little more time. as im at work right now. Reply:Weird.  I know there was a series of Dynasty's at first that had the knobs, and were just called the Dynasty, with the current rating not in the name (So, something like "Dynasty, 200A", instead of "Dynasty 200DX").  Never seen this particular one, but very NICE anyway!I've even seen older Dynasty 200DX's with knobs, in the more familiar Dynasty case (this one looks like its in an older Maxstar case).  Still doesn't detract from your awesome deal.  I thought that pulse was how they distinguished between the DX and SX series of Dynasty's, but I guess that was introduced after this machine was made.  Whatever.  I've got pulse in my Dynasty 200DX, and never use it.  Total waste in my opinion for handheld operation (maybe useful for a robotic setup using this as a power supply, which is possible because of all of the programming you can do with these machines).Anyway, you've got a knob for every important setting I have a button for, except for pre-flow and purge.  Even an option for DCEN stick and DCEP TIG (neither of which is a selectable option for the Dynasty 200DX).Any foot pedal or hand control?
Reply:i think that might be a dynasty 300dx. they stopped making the 300 series which is a shame. i have a maxstar 300dx and love it.  nice compact machine with lots (300) of amps. really want me one of them dynasty 300, but they don't make'm anymore.its a nice size, its portable, but not comfortably so, meaning its kinda on the heavy side
