Reply:The shelves are prefabbed to adjust to any height, but I needed them to be wider to straddle a swamp cooler and my work table, and still remain rigid. I cut the horizontal members in the middle and added the left-over small, round tubing, and some round rod as a truss. I haven't tried standing on them, if that's what you wondered!  But they are fairly sturdy.The ball on the spinner was not a sacrifice, it was a left over, damaged sway-control ball that was used on a trailer hitch setup. All of these projects are built with left over material on a near zero budget. The roller stand was a left over landing gear leg from a fifth wheel, with a brake drum base.The roller itself came from a roller stand that I bought years ago for the table saw. The fact was that I never used it because the legs were so hoakie to unfold and the height adjustment was a pain, so I scrapped the whole unit, except for the roller itself, which I framed up with scrap pieces of angle and square tube. But a simple roller of any kind would do. Actually, it doesn't even need to roll, because it really will only get used to hold up long material when cutting at the chop saw. Reply:You can't have too many stands. Roller stands ar nice for working with those heavy long pieces.
