Here's a couple of pics from a project a while back. We made a few of these for a coal fired electricity plant. Glad i'm just a fitter & not a full time welder these days.
Reply:Very cool. Ya I imagine that's plenty of welding
Reply:Cool stuff. I'd like to know the process and how much filler metal was used."Where's Stick man????????" - 7A749"SHHHHHH!! I sent him over to snag that MIC-4 while tbone wasn't looking!" - duaneb55"I have bought a few of Tbone's things unlike Stick-Man who helps himself" - TozziWelding"Stick-man"

Reply:fluxcore is very good, thin to big metal.
Reply:We use dual shield fluxcore to weld most of our projects. Attached Images
Reply:dual shield in the shop is skookum, but having to use it in the field can be a pain.  A lot of times, it is way simpler to just smaw it!Even then, one vessel shop I worked in welded vessels mainly with subarc and smaw.Last edited by mb_welder; 11-03-2010 at 01:15 AM.
